New Parent and Caregiver Support Club establishes e-mail discussion list

To help support those who are in parenting and caregiving roles, the new Argonne Parent and Caregiver Support Club (APACS) will be creating a parenting/caregiving support and discussion email list. The electronic mailing list will provide a forum for discussions ranging from “I need advice on toddler behavioral issues” to “Can anyone recommend resources for supporting families of cancer patients?” to “Where can I get gluten-free cookies for the kids?”

Those interested in adding their names to the list can send their name and email address to Kenley Pelzer.

A large number of Argonne employees are engaged in caregiving roles, either as parents or by caring for the medical needs of other family members. The goal of APACS is to develop a supportive community of parents and caregivers and foster communication and networking to assist employees with the unique challenges of parenting and caregiving. This organization also aims to encourage communication between employees, human resources and Argonne management.

APACS’s second meeting will be held Monday, March 6, at noon in the Bldg. 213 Cafeteria Conference Room.
